Hello NANOG members! We are once again approaching the annual NANOG election and appointment time. In addition to the "call for nominations" message at the opening of the process, the following is an overview and timeline of the actual election process. We encourage those in the community who are not currently NANOG members to consider becoming members of NANOG and to consider standing for a position in our leadership. Through membership and voting, you will be an active participant in directing all NANOG activities. Only NANOG members are eligible to vote and serve in the 2015 election process. *Click here* <https://www.nanog.org/membership> to become a member today! *At the December 15, 2014, NANOG Board meeting, the Board of Directors voted to extend the term of all current Communications and Program Committee members through February 2016. In early January 2015, all members of the committees agreed to the extension. Therefore, in this 2015 annual election process, there will be no committee member vacancies. * Ø Monday, August 3, 2015 the Call for Board Candidate Nominations begin Ø Bylaws discussed, proposed changes explored August 10, 2015 Ø Board nominations close on September 14, 2015 Ø Bylaws amendments posted September 21, 2015 Ø *Voting for the 2015 NANOG Board Candidate Elections will begin on Monday, October 5, 2015 at 8am ET and close on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at 12pm ET.* Only NANOG members in good standing are allowed to vote. ü ***If you are not a member and wish to vote in this election, your membership must be received by 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Friday October 2, 2015.*** Ø Call for Committee Member Nominations will be on January 1, 2016 Ø Committee nominations will close on February 1, 2016 *Why?* If you care about NANOG and think that you would like to take a turn at volunteering your time to help make it better please consider joining as a member and running for a position. 2015 Postel Scholarship Announcement

Colleagues, On behalf of the North American Network Operators' Group (NANOG) and the American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN), I would like to take this opportunity to draw your attention to the 2015 Postel Network Operator's Scholarship. The Postel Network Operator's Scholarship targets personnel from developing countries who are actively involved in Internet development, in any of the following roles: - Engineers (Network Builders) - Operational and Infrastructure Support Personnel - Educators and Trainers This is not a postgraduate fellowship or academic scholarship. Individuals may nominate themselves for the Scholarship via email or online form. The Scholarship will be awarded annually to a recipient selected by a committee comprising representatives from the NANOG Board of Directors and the ARIN Board of Trustees. The selection committee will "whimsically" select the annual recipient exclusively in response to the question: "What Would Jon Do?" if he were asked to select a recipient. The successful applicant will be provided with transportation to and from the NANOG and ARIN joint meeting October 5-9, 2015, in Montreal, Quebec Canada, and a reasonable (local host standard) allowance for food and accommodation. In addition, all fees for participation in both meetings' events will be waived. The final grant size is determined according to final costs and available funding. The chosen recipient will be advised at least 2 months prior to the fall meeting date. Applications from qualified individuals are now being accepted. The deadline for application is July 31, and the awardees will be informed by August 10, 2015. NANOG 65 - Montréal - Call for Presentations is Open!

Hello NANOG Folks, Thanks to all those who made NANOG 64 in San Francisco our largest meeting ever (by well over 25% margin)! Our 65th meeting will be held in Montréal, Quebec on June 5-7th. Our meeting sits between the DNS-OARC workshop (Sat-Sun) and the ARIN 36 meeting (Thu-Fri) so will be ripe for fruitful interaction among these various constituencies. The NANOG Program Committee is now seeking proposals for presentations, panels, tutorials, tracks sessions, and keynote materials for the NANOG 65 program. We invite presentations highlighting issues relating to technology already deployed or soon-to-be deployed in the Internet, . Vendors are encouraged to work with operators to present real-world deployment experiences with the vendor's products and interoperability.
