I thought I might try the other direction. It has come
time to find a new position, as we have been told our
career path going forward will change from network
engineering to something else and I'm not interested in
changing.
I've been a network engineer for just short of 20 years
on many different types of networks and many different
vendor devices. This means I can come up to speed on a
network quickly even if I have not been on exactly that
type of network before.
I live in Hawaii and am not interested in leaving at
this time, so I am looking for a remote worker position.
I have no constraints on traveling, working odd hours,
participating in on-call or anything. I could even come
to the main office for a couple/few months so the team
can get used to me and I can get used to the way the
team works.
