Metro. Detroit City Airport is not currently blessed with passenger service from any commercial airline so the choice is easy. :-)
How far is the Detroit Airport from Dearborn?
About 10 miles. So it'd prolly be worth it to just get a cab to the hotel, and not rent a car. If you end up wanting to eat outside the hotel during the meeting, there are many restaurants within walking distance or a short cab ride away. Your Dearborn travel guide, Susan

About 15 miles or so from Detroit Metro (DTW) to the Dearborn Hyatt. All but the last mile on either end is freeway so you can probably figure 20 minutes transit time during light traffic. Rush hour is surprisingly unpleasant on the feeder roads on both ends, so allow more time for your return to the airport if leaving afternoon-ish. If renting a car, allow an extra 15 minutes (at least) to catch and ride a shuttle to the rental lot, all of which are on private land across the freeway from the airport. And prepare to walk. Detroit Metro was a shining example of airport innovation and convenience 35 years ago, but even with recent updates it lacks some of the amenities we now consider standard. Not to intentionally slight Detroiters, but the Detroit airport ranks right up there on my "most despicable airports" list, right behind La Guardia. ;-) - paul

No slight taken (from me anyways). It sucks! Especially when you have to pick up someone from the airport. $9 to park for 20 minutes.... oy! Scott Kozicki BlueStar Communications -- "If you don't get this message, please let me know and I will send you another one."

Actually, a recent survey of travelers ranked Detroit as the worst airport in the US. La Guardia was also high (low?) on the list, but Detroit was dead last. Detroit Metro is just fine, as long as you really enjoy spending lots of time in airports and sitting in planes on runways. Unfortunately, there are only 15 people worldwide that are like that, and they all live in a small autonomous collective in Montana. For everyone else, Metro is a living hell. :) RobS
