Is a site of theirs actually in FLAMES ? I don't see anything on their webpage indicating an outage. -- Andrea Abrahamsen Software Engineer, Intelligent Network Services Cisco Systems
I know that this is off topic and that there is probably a forum somewhere more appropriate, so I'll appreciate any direction as to where would be better... But I couldn't think of a group that would more likely know what Locus Address Resolution Protocol (LARP) is. I've been Googling variations and cross references for LARP for the past hour and am starting to think it's a trick question :). All I can find is all the thousands of RFCs on the AINA numbering for it, but not what the protocol does. If anyone can throw me a bone, I'd really appreciate it. Karyn
Karyn, I'm not sure about the LARP but I can guide you toward a LARCH. -Monty python humor, sorry. Regards, Christopher J. If that doesn't help, I would suggest taking a LART to the person who spoke of this LARP thing. ;) On Wed, May 28, 2003 at 05:45:43PM -0700, Christopher J. Wolff wrote:

Try to make it on topic. Locus was bought by Computer Associates, which has apparently "hijacked" their networks instead of returning them to ARIN :-)

I believe it was part of Locus' distributed file system protocol. Try searching for papers by Geral Popek. http://fmg-www.cs.ucla.edu/ficus-members/popek/
Sheesh. Heh. We're still here. Part of a rectifier in a Liebert UPS let loose, causing a momentary fire. That is, until the FM200 quenched it. Since there seems to be interest, I will post the post-mortem to the list. On Wed, 28 May 2003, alex@yuriev.com wrote:

Hi guys, What's the currently efficient/preferred way of updating (replacing, rather than adding) a record at http://puck.nether.net/netops/ :: NOC Telephone List ? Cheers, mh -- Michael Hallgren, http://m.hallgren.free.fr/, mh2198-ripe

Cheers,
You need to really-really annoy me, but please don't for another week. There is a cgi where people can maintain their entries but it has required me to manually move entries under a maintainer id. If you have a maintainer id, you can edit your entry here: http://puck.nether.net/netops/engine.cgi?login I'll try and quickly go in and clear out entries but I think there's been about 1000 entries added over time which has made the dataset quite problematic to deal with. I really need to rebuild all the cgis with my latest cgi/html skills. - Jared -- Jared Mauch | pgp key available via finger from jared@puck.nether.net clue++; | http://puck.nether.net/~jared/ My statements are only mine.

Deal ;)

I don't. But no problem, it's not that urgent :)

Again, many thanks for your effort, mh
