Seems to be the same thing here in DFW, Texas Google is accessible and yahoo is not fully functional (login pages fail). -----Original Message----- From: owner-nanog@merit.edu [mailto:owner-nanog@merit.edu] On Behalf Of Tycho Eggen Sent: Tuesday, June 15, 2004 8:18 AM To: nanog@merit.edu Subject: Re: Akamai DNS Issue? From here neither www.google.com, nor www.apple.com work. Both seem to return CNAMES to akadns.net addresses (eg, www.google.akadns.net, www.apple.com.akadns.net), and from here all of the akadns.net servers
listed in whois are failing to respond.
Can someone confirm from another location? Comments from Akamai?
we see the same thing here in The Netherlands. it would seem like Akamai has fallen off the net. Tried all NSs on all locations, none of them responded. Up here in Seattle, Google is working fine, but yahoo is broken. The main yahoo.com page loads, but none of the subdomains I have tried are resolvable. www.microsoft.com is also broken. I'm seeing the same DNS resolver issues described. One layer under AS12003 here. Matthew

Google pulled references for akamais dns servers a short period ago. they are presently serving their own dns requests. - jared -- Jared Mauch | pgp key available via finger from jared@puck.nether.net clue++; | http://puck.nether.net/~jared/ My statements are only mine.
