Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z. (config)#junk fax ^ % Invalid input detected at '^' marker. (config)#end but a quick check of altavista gives the code http://www4.law.cornell.edu/uscode/47/227.html United States' junk fax law (47 USC Section 227) and from what I heard, you can sue them in your local court. You've been getting these too? I just called PacBell and this is the procedure they told me; 1) Pick up the line and DO NOT let it HANG UP... keep the line open. 2) Dial ANY seven digits followed by the "#" key. What this is supposed to do is notify the FAX machine at the other end to not dial your number anymore. So far, this has worked.

No, actually, the procedure is to sue the sender and make a decent amount of money off of them. That's FAR more effective than just stopping them from calling a particular phone number. :) D At 11:58 AM 2/4/00 -0800, Roeland M.J. Meyer wrote:

In small-claims court. According to 47USC227 you can collect $500 for each occurrence, with the opportunity to collect triple that amount if it can be proven that the sender already knew they were breaking the law. I also recall that the law permits suing, as described. However I believe the answer to your specific question about formal complaints is the Public Utilities Commission of your state. d/ =-=-=-=-= Dave Crocker <dcrocker@brandenburg.com> Brandenburg Consulting <www.brandenburg.com> Tel: +1.408.246.8253, Fax: +1.408.273.6464 675 Spruce Drive, Sunnyvale, CA 94086 USA Gong Xi Fa Cai / Selamat Tahun Baru Cina
