Any particular reason a Brocade VDX-6720 wouldn't work as a standard layer 2 switch? The only reason I ask is that someone cautioned me on fiber channel switches. This supports FCoE, which would imply E and therefore would work as expected.... just wanted to make sure. ----- Mike Hammett Intelligent Computing Solutions http://www.ics-il.com
We have a few VDX-6720's deployed as strictly L2 switches...no issues to really report. On Mon, Sep 14, 2015 at 12:48 PM, Mike Hammett <nanog@ics-il.net> wrote:

Seconded. We have several deployed with no ill-effect. I would caution you about VCS version compatibility on the 6720 if you're planning on doing that, but that's it.
