As an aside to that, I called the Crowne Plaza, and while they were out of the "NANOG" rooms, I was able to get a room there at the "Corporate Rate" (just ask for it and they give it to you as far as I can tell) which is $7/night less than the NANOG rate. Strange world, eh? At 01:53 PM 1/25/98 -0500, Chris Icide wrote:

I have been doing a lot of research on the VON hardware and wanted to hear from people who have been using this hardware. If any of you are running Voice over IP networks and don't mind sending me some feedback that would be great. Please send email to me and I will put together a summary and post it to NANOG if there is enough interest. -- Nathan Stratton Telecom & ISP Consulting www.robotics.net nathan@robotics.net

maybe it becomes the Compaq Internet eXchange. aka CIX. *snigger* ============================================================== andrew khoo - rebel leader aus: +61-2-9223-2777 Ourworld Global Network, Australia usa: +1-415-902-8820 -------------------------------------------------------------- get on the OGN backbone with 64K ISDN @ $500/month & no setup! ============================================================== -- We Bite (tm) --
Rest assured that there will be no effect to the customers of the PAIX. I can only speculate as to the many positive outcomes (more money) and what it means to our department. We are continuing to expand our facilities and bring together more ISPs. I'll talk more about it during the "State of the Internet" presentation at NANOG. See you there. -Jay

Don't know about PAIX, but I think that the RA server there and AltaVista search engine will be ported to Win95 on Compaq Presario! ;-)) steven At 11:05 1/26/98 -0500, Nathan Stratton wrote:
