Brad, Why haven't you answered the question posed to you privately about why I can't remove the fax number from my contact handle, SJS5? If you're not the proper person to talk to, at least (a) tell me, or (b) forward the question to someone who can answer it. -- North Shore Technologies, Cleveland, OH http://NorthShoreTechnologies.net Steve Sobol, BOFH - President, Chief Website Architect and Janitor Linux Instructor, PC/LAN Program, Natl. I said this once in private to you, Randy, and should have CC'd it to the list. Sorry about that. I now have been told by many people, including two NSI employees, that Brad is part of NSI-Registry and can't answer my question. (It would make sense if people working on the registry side would use an e-mail address that indicated that.) Ok, fine. Brad could at least have answered one of my e-mails saying "I can't help you." Unfortunately, I'm not terribly surprised that I got ignored. Of course, a polite complaint about a change that took months to complete once earned me a rather nasty rant from an NSI VP, and this behavior is right in line with what happened back then (this was a couple years ago). Someone else who is not with NSI finally answered my question. -- North Shore Technologies, Cleveland, OH http://NorthShoreTechnologies.net Steve Sobol, BOFH - President, Chief Website Architect and Janitor Linux Instructor, PC/LAN Program, Natl. I had this same problem with removing an OrgName from a contact handle. It had a company name in it, and I was no longer with the company, and since the handle was "mine", I wanted the company name off. According to NSI, once a field is filled it can only be replaced, not deleted. So my suggestion would be to put NSI's fax number in there (the normal one, that being the one whose faxes always seem to get lost anyway). That way, NSI gets all the junk-faxes you would receive, and if they don't like it, maybe they can just figure out how to run a DB and delete the data?
