Is anyone else seeing this crap from best.com besides me? I complained to them last time and received no reply. So i decided to filter parts of them and it's looking like i did the right thing. Here are a few entries from 209K of ejectamenta. Someone checked through an entire /19 for a place to login. Try complaining to hightway technologies and Verio. Best.net and highway merged and then were acquired by verio right before the IPO. Perhaps someone from verio on this list could give input on the procedure now. At 10:10 AM -0500 12/14/98, Bill Becker wrote:

Thanks. But i called the best.com NOC and they were responsive. The abuse address is geared mainly towards spam. Bill

I ended up forwarding Bill's NANOG message to a couple of my own contacts at Best... through that small/short conversation, it might be interesting to note Best's NOC number for anyone's future reference: 650/944-8399 Regards, Russell -- Russell M. I see Im actually going to have to post this. Yes my clock was wrong, a PRAM problem with my laptop since it was -10 in Denver and it was in the car too long while asleep. The good news is Ive only received 31 emails and I thought everyone was just concerned about Y2k Now Im trying to think of something productive to say that fits the nanog charter. Actually I really would like to know how many NSPs out there are going to use caching. Are you thinking of deploying transparent caching? At 7:57 PM -0500 12/15/98, Jay R. Ashworth wrote:

Best ("no pun intended") bet is to contact noc@best.com for all best.com related questions as the Merger is expected to complete around the beginning of the year.

That's 'hiwaay', not 'highway' -- but the Best NOC should be able to help, they're still around. -- J.D. Falk <jdfalk@cp.net> "Smoke me a kipper, boys, Special Agent In Charge (Abuse Issues) I'll be back for breakfast." Critical Path, Inc. -- Red Dwarf
actually its Hiway Technologies Highway and Hiwaay are different :) Regards, Scott Averbach
