sprintlink filtering???
Hmmm. AS6302 a multihomed sprint/mci customer is announcing 204.70.195/24 (a MCI backbone network) to sprintlink, and spintlink is accepting it and announcing it to the world. Is sprintlink not filtering announcments they get from customers? Scott -- smace@neosoft.com - KC5NUA - Scott Mace - Network Engineer - Neosoft Inc. Any opinions expressed are mine.

Sprintlink has only ever claimed to implement inbound filtering. Sean was hoping that other providers would filter inbound as well, but that didn't happen for quite a while... Avi
Hello, Ahem. Nanog is not the place for provider complaints or inquiries. I will suggest 'noc@sprint.net' or 'isc@sprint.net' whatever reorg they're in... ** Please people, keep the noise down, keep it relevant to North America, and try to think of where you could send your thoughts/rantings/tirades/tidbits instead of nanog.... -alan ps -> I dunno if SL is changing stuffs, bit if I remember correctly, their filters didn't go into affect until 206/8 or something like that.... I would think Hank or Benham would be the best people to ask, via the appropriate escalation chain starting w/ 'noc@sprint.net'.....

why not ask their noc as opposed to the whole world? try ins@sprint.net. and you also might tell the POC for the AS that's making the boo boo. but, as the rest of us can't do squat about it, and sprint et alia spend a lot of money and time running a NOC, maybe give them a try. randy

Yes, I've sent email to the necessary parties and they have fixed the problem... But the issue still remains. I am rather disturbed by the fact that sprintlink allowed it to happen in the first place. Scott -- smace@neosoft.com - KC5NUA - Scott Mace - Network Engineer - Neosoft Inc.
