Greetings - we're starting to plan the agenda for the May NANOG meeting. Would there be interest in presenting further results from the route flapping analyses some of you have been doing, to see what trends are emerging? Sean and Curtis gave reports at the February meeting; we'd be glad to hear from them again, and also are wondering if Andrew Partan, Mark Fedor, Jerry Crow, or Jack Waters might be interested in presenting any data. --Susan R. S- Would something from the folks at "Registration Central" aka Network Solutions be a good item in light of all the recent traffic on rules for getting allocations and the delays being seen in getting them? paul
Paul: I'd be happy to get another talk about "Registration Central" and the numbers we are dealing with now at the next NANOG. I don't know if you were at the last NANOG, but the slides and Stan's notes are available from my last talk as http://www.academ.com/nanog/internic.html. As for the allocation rules, there is an effort underway to improve upon rfc1466 that describes allocation practices from a registry standpoint. The effort is being undertaken by a small mix of the regional registry and ISP people. Thanks, Mark

Mark That would be great. What were Stan's words (or your's) - "The Internic is overworked and understaffed." Besides giving the latest stats update, what the Internic is doing to solve the porblems caused by the workload would be of great interest to all at NANOG, I'd think. It would also give you a forum to talk about the planned changes to the allocation rules. Again of great interest. Looking forward, Paul
