Re: New Denial of Service Attack on Panix
You are right, it is not a new thought. The problem is that it would require the IEPG and NANOG to actually do something useful, such as making service providers collaborate and considerate of fate sharing. But then again, who in their right mind would be crazy enough taking the lead on something THAT outrageous?

Well, the good news is...... the solution to this problem is quite trivial technically (as common sense would lead men of reason to believe)...... The bad news, as HWB points out, is that self-styled ISP organizations and pseudo-organizations would have to do something that requires coordination and mutual cooperation..... It might be easier to implement the 'RocketScience Stochastic Predictive Eliminate-the-Noise-in-the-Signal' Algorithm than to have providers work together on a 'trival technical solution' :-) :-) Enjoy the Fall Weather, BTW! I think I'll calibrate an old tube type microwave sweep generator on the balcony for fun........... fun only a EE could appreciate (on second thought, hiking in the Mountains sounds better ;) Thanks for the sanity check, BTW.
