Absolutely, but I think this brings up a bigger issue... This is basically another attempt by NSI to claim they own the data contained in WHOIS. This concerns me much more than the arbitrary and cavalier way they make changes. Owen
You agree that you will not reproduce, sell, transfer, or modify any of the data presented in response to your search request, or use of any such data for commercial purpose, without the prior express written permission of Network Solutions.
The verbage change broke my script, only because of sloppy programming on my part, but.... Since whois'es sometimes close before you get the entire report, I needed a way to know I got the entire message.
This effect anyone else? Anyone else in favor of a "HEADS-UP" from networksolutions before these take place? :)

No I don't. To quote Andrew Dice Clay, "NSI can..." Well, you know. I refuse to be bound by rules and regulations that NSI them selfs arbitrarily ignore. How many others have received both email and snailmail from NSI, addressed to a name you use ONLY for domain registrations, offering you some commercial service of NSI? It is time to start calculating how much money is being lost as a direct result of their making arbitrary changes to the system without any notification to the public. I believe it would make for a very nice class action suit. ------------ John Fraizer ------------ mailto:john.fraizer@EnterZone.Net http://www.EnterZone.Net http://www.EZ-Hosting.Net http://www.EZ-IP.Net ------------------------------------------ | __ _ | | | / / (_)__ __ ____ __ | The choice | | / /__/ / _ \/ // /\ \/ / | of a GNU | | /____/_/_//_/\_,_/ /_/\_\ | Generation | | | | ------------------------------------------

Or, perhaps more hilariously, how many people have gotten "You've been pre-approved!" credit card offers explaining how their role account (e.g. "DALnet Hostmaster") has been carefully selected among hundreds of potential applicants for a credit card? *Someone's* obviously been mining the whois database and giving it to direct mailers. I wouldn't be at all surprised if it were NSI. -dalvenjah -- Dalvenjah FoxFire (aka Sven Nielsen) "We've lost the bleeps, the creeps, Founder, the DALnet IRC Network and the sweeps!"
