not much, NTT and verio have had a 'close' relationship for a long time.. Unless you think Verio's buyout may mean more banner ads on verio sites for tamagotchis' and all things cute. Rodney Caston Tools Engineer SBC Internet Services On Mon, 8 May 2000, David Lesher wrote:

Well, I was actually think of the overseas ownership, and ICANNish aspects... -- A host is a host from coast to coast.................wb8foz@nrk.com & no one will talk to a host that's close........[v].(301) 56-LINUX Unless the host (that isn't close).........................pob 1433 is busy, hung or dead....................................20915-1433
In reality, ICANN has had very little impact on the big-8 providers. They are not even the first to span RIRs. However, I do find it interesting that the reporter found it significant to count the domain names under Verio, as if they were assets. Since the name belongs to the registrant and not necessarily to Verio, they are not assets of Verio. Granted, it does indicate the amount of bandwidth Verio is responsible for.

Verio's been publishing that number for a while, though -- and their subsidiary TABnet even longer. -- J.D. Falk "Laughter is the sound Product Manager that knowledge makes when it's born." Mail Abuse Prevention System LLC -- The Cluetrain Manifesto

Sounds like something verio would do, well to be fair, any corp would do., Though I don't know if bandwidth is the right word for the type of sites verio and their iservers host, perhaps the word 'bandwidth' should be replaced with 'porn' in this instance. Rodney Caston SBC Internet Services

also (too low of customer count) = eggs in one basket (high bandwidth customers) = less margin at least, usually..
