Does anyone here know of a datacenter discussion forum? Issues such as power, racks, cabinets, wiring, air conditioning, generators, fire protection, security, access policy, etc, etc? Would the nanog list be appropriate for this? Thanks! Grisha Trubetskoy
datacenter@shorty.com majordomo@shorty.com with "subscribe datacenter" I haven't seen a message on it for ages and ages though. nm On Tue, 2 Mar 1999, Gregory (Grisha) Trubetskoy wrote:

Actually Greg if you scour the archives this has been discussed (at least part of it has in respects to NOC construction) here before. Can't remember the exact thread but it did have _NOC_ in the title. On Tue, 2 Mar 1999, Gregory (Grisha) Trubetskoy wrote:

I have created a mailing list mail majordomo@speedport.net use subscribe data-center in the body. This list is designed for people building or interested in Data center design and cnostruction. I guess it will touch on NOC issues such as procedures and escalation etc etc I think this list will be invaluable to those in this field... -- Thanks, Marc Teichtahl Global Network Consultancy "The web is NOT the Internet" "We do carriage, not transit" "Why ? ... cos an analyst said so !!" Ack! Please don't! A mailing list for discussing data centers already exists. Even though it's very low traffic, the datacenter@shorty.com is very much alive. The people on the list are very good about responding quickly to questions, even if the answer is "I don't know". Jeff
Actually, is there a list of all the datacenters nationwide/Global? (I know Im dreaming but a list of participants at each site would be nice too). Makes it easier to decide where you should locate with peering and CLEC access in mind. At 11:40 AM -0500 3/4/99, Jeffrey C. Ollie wrote:
