So, a potential reason came up for me to possibly run 11.3. I really don't want to, but I am comtemplating it. Apparently, 11.3 has code to fast-switch policy-routed networks. Does it work? Is 11.3 really usable? I am scared to death, but may need this for a certain application. Any comments are welcome.

we are running policy routing on our 3640 and 7206 machines and we quite fine without fast switched policy routing. I would only think of using it if the cpu overhead starts getting unconformatably high. At the moment we are running 112-11.P without any major tilts. Hrm. We turned on polcy-routing on a 4700 that was running at abour 40% CPU. We turned on policy-routing for one interface (a v.35 that was doing abour 1.2 mb/s) and it jumped up to 60%. I turned it on for a moment on a HSSI interface that was doing about 3.5 mb/s, and it pegged the machine at 99%. On Thu, 12 Mar 1998, Christian Kratzer wrote:

If I were you, I'd run 11.1.17(CA) or better on the 7206. We ran into some general wierdness with 11.2.11P.
