I wonder how long 'netstat -rn' takes on *BSD with 54k routes. 6 seconds (output to /dev/null) on a Pentium something-or-other running BSD/OS 3.1. How about 'netstat -rn | wc -l'

Good test for a GRF router which runs BSD. We see almost exactly this many routers and when we reconfig a router we use the command a lot to what routes coming in. In most cases with a full 51-56k routes it is about 3-4secs. GRF is a 166mhz pentium, 2.1BSDI, 512meg RAM. At 8:59 PM -0000 11/2/98, Paul Vixie wrote:
