Pacific Bell San Francisco NAP status: 10/14/94 MCInet: Up and running, ping and testing performanace with ANS/NSFNET ANS/NSFNET: Up and running, ping and testing performanace with MCInet RS: Pacific Bell is working on the firm order and securing a turn-up due date. vBNS: The DS3 circuit turn-up due date is 11/1/94 and the actual date will dependent on the vBNS turn-up date. NETCOM: Interest in placing order to the SF-NAP, an ATM port has been reserved and a DS3 circuit is being verified between PacBell Palo Alto ATM switch and the NETCOM POP is Santa Clara. AGIS: Interest in placing order to the SF-NAP, an ATM port has been reserved and a DS3 circuit is being verified between the Palo Alto ATM switch and the AGIS POP is Santa Clara. SprintLink: Interest in placing order to the SF-NAP, a DS3 ATM port has been reserved. PacBell Broadband Lab: This link will be used for turn-up and performance testing between Pacific Bell NAP project team and the NAP customers. Frank, I think you mean circuit acceptance testing (fastping) and functional testing with MCI here. Performance testing is a whole different subject. Please let me know if you would like to perform some realistic performance testing in addition to the circuit testing. If so, we can take this off line. Curtis BTW - Bellcore set up their prototype NAP on the ANS testnet and we have some preliminary results from tests using TCP and a moderate delay (20 msec RTT). I will provide preliminary result shortly.
