Well, at least the new TLDs will promote DNS-based cruft filtration. You can already safely ignore anything with a .name, .biz, .info, .tv suffix, to name just the worst. How do you know this? Judging by the past experience of TLDs there will not be a rush of customers but there will be a rush of people trying to make a buck.
