That's explained here: https://www.juniper.net/documentation/us/en/software/junos/interfaces-ethern... "set chassis fpc 0 pic 0 port 0 speed 10g" enables the split to 4x10G. You should get xe-0/0/0:0, xe-0/0/0:1, xe-0/0/0:2 and xe-0/0/0:3. The "number-of-sub-ports" is not mandatory (at least on MX10003, never tried on MX960). -- If you tell the truth you don't have to remember anything. -- Mark Twain
