No, because there doesn't _have_ to be a SOA RR for a 2nd level domain. For example, in the .de TLD, there are (many) domains which have their RRs (A, MX) in the de. zone file, NOT being delegated to another NS RRset. Example: fsck.de Regards, Daniel
