It could also be in the middle of an AXFR Serial# doesnt update until AXFR is complete. Also, say Serial 1999072700 is active/reloaded on A at 16:00, and sends NOTIFY to others to do AXFR, and you queried A versus F at 16:10, F is still going to have old 1999072700 serial. So no, it's not necessarily a day at all. -jamie On Wed, Jul 28, 1999 at 10:03:49PM -0700, Stephen Stuart wrote:
The F.ROOT-SERVERS.NET machine has an out-of-date com. zone. The other name servers seem to be up-to-date, and the F server is OK for the net and org domains, and the root domain. Only the com TLD is out of date (5 days old).
A says:
;; ANSWER SECTION: com. 1D IN SOA A.ROOT-SERVERS.NET. hostmaster.INTERNIC.NET. ( 1999072800 ; serial 30M ; refresh 15M ; retry 1W ; expiry 1D ) ; minimum
F says:

That looks like a one day difference to me.
