Metro subway fire in Washington DC fiber repair delayed until Sunday

The fire in the Metro subway line in Washington DC damaged some fiber. Due to the hazardous conditions, safety officials will not allow fiber repair crews access to the area until, at the earliest, Sunday. It appears most traffic is re-routed around the damage sections, but some unusual routing and increased latency is possible.
