I agree with Alec here. If you've got complaints or want to be involved, use the ppml list - whether or not you make it to the meetings. Though the meetings indeed have a significant impact on policies, I'm pretty certain that if valid points are made on the mailing list they'll be considered at the meetings, and if they're not - whine about it on the ppml list -- that's what it's for...
