Note that *no* anti-spam solution will work unless the network operators have enough clue to deploy it, be it rate limiting, extensions to SMTP, a replacement for SMTP, or what have you. The only reason network operators don't have clues is because there's been little to no evolutionary pressure to acquire same. At some point, there *will* have to be a weeding out....
