Rodney, I agree with you that the tech contact data should be accurate. We are very careful to maintain our contact record with current data in the whois database. We WANT to know when an issue exists that requires our immediate attention. If 'they' (or the collective we, actually) use valid dns data, I'd even live with that. I have no problem using 'dig'.
