I think this can be explained by "routers don't need to parse extension headers, they're routers, they only act on L3". Some of the people around back in early/mid 1990ies involved in designing IPv6 is still around in IETF, you can always ask them. -- Mikael Abrahamsson email: swmike@swm.pp.se
