Another problem is mergers. If you ever merge with another company, hope they dont use the same private IP space.
I think it depends greatly on how you glue the merged nets together. This really shouldn't be much of a problem, compared to the other issues of merging. OTOH, I think there is a saying that when climbing a ladder, don't put both feet on the same rung at the time.
