The actual law is insanely vague and requires "proof and a written record". The court system and IRS have been all over the map about what constitutes proof vs. just a written record, and, as such, accounting trolls have developed a myriad of different policies. However, I think we have wandered far afield from the operational portion of this topic. Owen
