anyone who's been putting it off really ought to consider setting up a web cache -- it's really the only way that dialup customers can get to news sites at times like this.
CNN is (supposedly) Akamaizing most of their images & possibly their whole site. Things should get better for you if you have Akamai servers on-net. (And even if you do not.)
