I've heard that suggestion several times. The underlying problem is that you have routes in most peoples routing tables which look like: Network Address Netmask Gateway Address Interface 127.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 127.0.0.1 127.0.0.1 And as such, anything bound for 127.x.x.x won't exit most boxes. Instead you want something which looks like a "normal" IP address and will get routed towards the ISP. - Forrest W.
