Yup, just checked and saw another 70 some more specific routes covered by 193.112/13 are gone from AS690's routing table. Congratulations!! There are still several routes covered by your aggregate in the routing table (see below). You may have policy reasons not to withdraw them, but just let you know in case. 193.112.16 140.222.41.2 UG (0)0 ffff ff00 193.113 140.222.41.2 UG (0)0 ffff 193.113.58 140.222.41.2 UG (0)0 ffff ff00 193.113.144 140.222.41.2 UG (0)0 ffff ff00 193.114.248 140.222.41.2 UG (0)0 ffff ff00 193.117.15 140.222.41.2 UG (0)0 ffff ff00 193.117.190 140.222.41.2 UG (0)0 ffff ff00 Thanks! --Jessica ------- Forwarded Message Return-Path: list-admin Received: from marble.Britain.EU.net (marble.Britain.EU.net [192.91.199.5]) by merit.edu (8.6.8.1/merit-1.0) with ESMTP id LAA25847; Mon, 20 Jun 1994 11:56:34 -0400 Received: from localhost (root@localhost) by marble.Britain.EU.net (8.6.4/8.6.4) id QAA17349; Mon, 20 Jun 1994 16:56:30 +0100 Date: Mon, 20 Jun 1994 16:56:30 +0100 From: James Aldridge <jhma@Britain.EU.net> Message-Id: <199406201556.QAA17349@marble.Britain.EU.net> To: bgpd@merit.edu, jyy@merit.edu, regional-techs@merit.edu Subject: Re: this week's CIDR progress Jessica Yu <jyy@merit.edu> writes:
If you have already run BGP4 but not doing aggregate, advertise aggregate and withdrawn more specific routes.
EUnet GB (AS1290) is now announcing the aggregate route 193.112/13 and I have (within the last few minutes) withdrawn the more specific routes from our external BGP4-capable peers. Whilst a quite a number of the more specific routes in this block were not previously being routed I hope that this change has made some impression on the size of the world's routing tables.
