AS number translation, perhaps? But more seriously, in general, it is impossible to tell if a conflict between RIPE and ARIN is real, or is the result of lack of updates after mergers and acquisitions on one of the sides. A good example in this area is 53.0.0.0/8, which has a rather interesting history.
