I recently saw the documentary Solarmax at Portland's OmniMax theatre, which was very interesting (not too mention a great ride in omnimax theatre!). The documentary on the sun outlined the impact of solar flares, especially the ones that occur every 11 years when the sun reverse rotation. The last one, 11 years ago, affected power grids and satellite systems (then in toddler stage). Does anyone have any information on the expected impact of this year's solarmax on power grids and satellite communication? Or was the documentary more hype than fact? --------------------------------------------------------------------- Best regards, Karyn Ulriksen Director of Network Operations PublicHost, A SiteStream Company 1 Jenner, Suite 100 Irvine, California 92618 USA Phone: (949) 743-2000 email: kulriksen@publichost.com URL: http://www.publichost.com ===========================================
