You would think the words "Silicon Switch Processor" might clue people in that the board in question has nice little chips on it doing routing/switching, leaving the 68040 free to process BGP updates etc.
Unfortunately, the 68040 is unable to keep up in ugly situations...
Xyplex has a router card for their 9000 chassis that uses the 68060 and had BGP4 support in the alpha phase.
