I have never used 40 gig but this: http://www.extremenetworks.com/products/blackdiamond-x.aspx appears to have 192 ports of it. I have never seen or used this product so am not recommending it or attempting to sell it to you. I have not seen Extreme mentioned in other replies so far, is all. It may or may not have advantages over other products mentioned so far. I have no idea since I've never seen or used any 40gig product.
