Not everything is a freeking conspiracy either.
Did i say anything about any conspiracy?
What we have is a company which does not give a damn about such abstract notions as liberty and freedom. Not the first one, not the last one.
What we seem to have here is someone who apparently has a problem with a certain hardware vendor and wants to air that in a public forum that isn't even appropriate for this kind of issue.
Now we have the said company in the "partnership" with the said agency. Can it be more clear than that?
Maybe you haven't seen this before, but 'partnership' to a hardware vendor means "we're going to make a whole bunch of money from this deal so let's call them a partner.' It does not mean that Bay Networks is sitting down with the Chinese government saying "Let us help you figure out how to brainwash all your citizens."
What is sad, most people just don't care. Not until they're personally dragged by goons from their own bed. That attitude is, essentially, what sustains totalitarism.
You know, I get the feeling that most of us really don't care. Maybe the Chinese government will use their network for purposes we don't agree with. But your beef is really with the government then, isn't it? -Jon ----------------------------------------------------------------- * Jon Green * * * jcgreen@netINS.net * This space for rent pending * * Finger for Geek Code/PGP * me thinking up a witty quote. * * #include "std_disclaimer.h" * * -------------------------------------------------------------------------
