Those who designed IPv6 appear to have ignored the problem space.
This is true of many, many aspects of IPv6. And those of us who didn't get involved in the process to try and address (pardon the pun, heh) those problems bear a burden of the responsibility for the current state of affairs. So, it's very obvious that there's a lot of work to be done in order to make pure IPv6 viable for a non-isignificant proportion of the user base (including spimes and such in that population). Dual-stack is an appropriate transitional mechanism to make some steps towards that goal in some circumstances, and so it shouldn't be summarily dismissed, that's all. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Roland Dobbins <rdobbins@arbor.net> // <http://www.arbornetworks.com> The basis of optimism is sheer terror. -- Oscar Wilde
