Hrm. We turned on polcy-routing on a 4700 that was running at abour 40% CPU. We turned on policy-routing for one interface (a v.35 that was doing abour 1.2 mb/s) and it jumped up to 60%. we are running policy routing on our 3640 and 7206 machines and we quite fine without fast switched policy routing. I would only think of using it if the cpu overhead starts getting unconformatably high.
At the moment we are running 112-11.P without any major tilts.
If I were you, I'd run 11.1.17(CA) or better on the 7206. We ran into some general wierdness with 11.2.11P.
