Just as an FYI, I did determine (hint from earlier thread) that I take "the long route" when I am connected to my corporate SLL VPN (which forces DNS resolution priority to my corporate DNS servers), but when I disconnect, I take the short route (and use OpenDNS servers for DNS resolution)...
