MAPS might or could be an organisation just as important for the continuity of the internet as those ones. Remember how much shit ARIN got here when it was first announced that they'd be charging for IP addresses? That thread was much worse than the recent MAPS hubbub -- probably because MAPS has big, scary, easy-to-understand money holes like "legal fees," while all ARIN's got is "operating expenses." -- J.D.
