
Dear NANOG 59 Newcomers, Welcome to NANOG 59! Hosted by PhoenixNAP, at the Sheraton Wild Horse Hotel in Phoenix, Arizona. We are expecting a strong attendance at the meeting; with nearly 618 individuals registered, 190 have indicated they are attending a NANOG meeting for the first time. In addition to the meeting reminders previously sent to attendee@nanog.org, this message contains information just for those of you attending for the first time. *Check-in Reminder:* Meeting registration will be at the Akimel Foyer. When you arrive at the meeting, please check in at the NANOG registration desk to pick up your name badge, t-shirt, registration tote, and other important handouts. The registration desk will be open during the following hours: - Sunday 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. - Monday 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. - Tuesday 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. - Wednesday 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. In the Akimel Foyer / Mesquite Terrace, - Welcome Refreshments will be served on Monday 8:00-10:30 a.m. and, - Power Breakfast will be served Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:30-9:30 a.m. *Monday Activities* Monday’s agenda begins at 10:00 a.m. with the conference opening, keynote address, followed by General Session presentations. The Newcomers Lunch, events made just for you to meet and greet new and returning NANOG colleagues will be held at 12:00 p.m. in the Komatke A,B,C Ballroom. The NANOG Community Meeting, hosted by the NANOG Board, is an important opportunity to learn about organizational updates and communicate with the NANOG leadership. This begins at 4p.m. followed by afternoon tracks. We invite you to attend and participate in the NANOG Community discussion as the Community Meeting, the candidates running for the NANOG Board of Directors will present their views regarding future NANOG activities. *Tuesday-Wednesday Programming Activities* During Tuesday and Wednesday there will be a combination of General Session presentations as well as concurring Tracks and Tutorials. Make sure that you review the agenda you receive with your registration badge, and plan what sessions to attend. Any updates to the agenda are reflected on the Online Agenda, so make sure you that version as well. The slides for all General Session presentations will be posted on the Online agenda on the day of the presentation. Approximately four weeks following the meeting all the approved and recorded Tutorial and General Session presentations will be posted to the NANOG 59 meeting agenda page. *Social Events <http://www.nanog.org/meetings/nanog59/socials>* Monday: - 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m., Coresite , DuPont Fibros Technology, Evoswitch Fiberlight, Juniper Networks, LINX Nova, will be hosting a social at the Rawhide Western Town. Tuesday: - 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. the ever famous NANOG Beer n’ Gear will be held at the Komatke D,E,F,G Ballroom. - 8:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. - BTI Systems and Layer42 will continue evening activities in the Mesquite Terrace, Sheraton Wild Horse Property Wednesday: - 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m – ARIN will begin the evening with the standard Fall Happy Hour social in the Akimel Patio, Sheraton Wild Horse Property. - 7:15 – 10:30 p.m. GPF will close out NANOG 59 with a social that includes the opportunity to drive a high performance racing car at the Bonduant School of High Performance Driving.
