Dear NANOG Newcomer,
Welcome to NANOG 72, at the Loews Atlanta hotel. We are expecting strong attendance with 833 individuals registered, and you are one of the 214 attendees to indicate they are attending a NANOG meeting for the first time. We are happy to have you join us!
Hopefully you’ve seen the general meeting reminders sent in the Attendees Welcome message. If you did not receive that message, let us know by emailing nanog-support(a)nanog.org <mailto:nanog-support@nanog.org>, and we’ll forward a copy to you. This message contains information related to getting the most out of attending a NANOG conference for the first time.
Monday Newcomers Lunch
The Newcomers Lunch will be held at 12:00 p.m. in the Mercer Ballroom (14th floor) on February 19. This lunch is held especially for our newcomers to meet veteran NANOG colleagues and to become more familiar with NANOG meetings and traditions – we encourage you to attend! Each lunch table will be hosted by a NANOG Mentor(s) who will provide an overview of a typical NANOG meeting. The lunch will provide Newcomers an opportunity to discuss NANOG, network with NANOG leadership (past and present), and with each other. Simply stated, it is a time for NANOG networking and finding answers to any questions you may have.
This event is by invitation only; you will receive a calendar invite from events(a)nanog.org <mailto:events@nanog.org> shortly. If you do not have the invitation by Friday, February 16, 2018 then please check your spam folder, and if you still don’t have the invitation, let us know by emailing nanog-support(a)nanog.org <mailto:nanog-support@nanog.org>.
NANOG Membership <https://www.nanog.org/membership> is optional, however we encourage you to consider joining your colleagues <https://profile.nanog.org/public/members>. As a member, you will receive:
Discounted Meeting Registration
Special Considerations at each NANOG meeting

Workshops and Photo Sessions
Most important, the ability to vote and set the direction of NANOG during the annual Elections cycle which takes place every October, and participation on the Program Committee which is appointed every February.
