Is there a way to get Google to whitelist an IP (in this case for a school) that is getting blocked via bot detection?
Are you sure this is "bot detection", and if so, that it's not correct? AFAICT, Google was having an issue affecting maps yesterday, causing people to get: Google Sorry... We're sorry... ... but your computer or network may be sending automated queries. To protect our users, we can't process your request right now. See Google Help for more information. I got this yesterday afternoon while trying to access Google maps from a /28 that has been unused for years and had 1 Macbook active in it for testing purposes. i.e. Google search - no problem. Google maps - above error message. I assumed the space I was testing had IP reputation issues (at least at Google), but then heard from a coworker that he was having the exact same experience from totally different IP space on our network. An hour or so later, both of us had normal access again. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Jon Lewis, MCP :) | I route Blue Stream Fiber, Sr. Neteng | therefore you are _________ http://www.lewis.org/~jlewis/pgp for PGP public key_________
