I was privileged to have met Dave at BattleMeshV6, back in 2013. The room was abuzz when Dave was holding court. He had such an easy way about him, and his charisma and confidence were irresistible. There were a lot of talented folks packed in that room, but we all knew having Dave there was special. Oh holy shit! Dave seemed like a really good guy. He helped me one afternoon configuring my home router's qos just for fun.
