Is that still really a thing? I mean of course I know that opt-out marketing mail is common as dirt, but it seems pretty common to have a simple unsubscribe button at the end of the email. I mean, it's annoying, but they see to work from what I can tell.
Yeah, maybe. How many new iterations of the same email, same list, same company with a slightly different domain or slightly different name do you feel you should be unsubscribing from on a daily basis?
I'm getting multiple spams every day from nitwits who buy spamming packages that include a list with one of my addresses in it, and then they spam me from throwaway accounts at one of the big providers. Since the mail is technically 100% legit the spam filters have to look at the body and since they tweak the body every time, that's a losing battle. This is illegal in Canada and the UK and the EU, but these are mostly in the US. I do get occasional spam from the UK who I never hear from again after I send the form letter asking for details for my complaint to the information commissioner's office. R's, John
