Ouch. I'm local, so I'm not a hotel guest. The lot at the hotel is $16 per visit. I was thinking of going "off property" tomorrow for shawarma for lunch at the Kosher food truck on International drive, but then I'll end up spending $32 on parking...$48 if I leave to pick up the family and return for Seaworld night. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Jon Lewis, MCP :) | I route Senior Network Engineer | therefore you are Atlantic Net | _________ http://www.lewis.org/~jlewis/pgp for PGP public key_________

Ok...several people have educated me about the free parking at the Hilton next to the Renaissance. I guess I should have looked around some more this morning. Anyone interested in shawarma or other foods at the kosher food truck: http://orlandokosheronwheels.com/ It's about 5 miles north of the hotel. I can take a few people...not more than 3 passengers comfortably (4 if at least one is small). I think at MAAWG, I had 5 or 6 passengers when we headed east to try to watch the shuttle launch, but that was bordering on clown car loading. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Jon Lewis, MCP :) | I route Senior Network Engineer | therefore you are Atlantic Net | _________ http://www.lewis.org/~jlewis/pgp for PGP public key_________

A schwarma for lunch sounds amazing! It's too bad the food truck isn't on wheels and could come to us. Oh, wait. Social engineering, expert level: get the truck to come here; get the hotel to allow it. Who is willing to attempt this achievement unlock? It is on wheels...but it's also got bits bolted to the ground, so I don't think it moves often or willingly. On Tue, 5 Feb 2013, Eric Oosting wrote:

If there's room, David Barak and I can ride along. Otherwise, I'll drive. On Tue, 5 Feb 2013, Martin Hannigan wrote:

I've corresponded with the owner of Cohen's Deli, and been told that they are back to doing most of their regular lunch menu on the meat side of their relatively new location (Worldgate Hotel 3011 Maingate Lane, Kissimmee, FL). They're a little longer drive from here than Kosher on Wheels, but not too bad. Here's an example of one of their specialties...they call it a New Jersey style sloppy joe. http://www.lewis.org/~jlewis/cohens-joe.jpg Anyone up for it tomorrow (for lunch "on our own")? According to Google, it's 10 miles / 14 minutes from here. http://goo.gl/maps/HjYE1 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Jon Lewis, MCP :) | I route Senior Network Engineer | therefore you are Atlantic Net | _________ http://www.lewis.org/~jlewis/pgp for PGP public key_________

Did anyone else want to give this a try today?...or was the shawarma too good to pass up going back there once more before heading home? A specialty sandwich and side at Cohens is around 2x the price of shawarma. On Tue, 5 Feb 2013, Jon Lewis wrote:
