Dear NANOG51 Attendee, We look forward to seeing you at NANOG51, hosted by Terremark, January 30-February 2 at the Hotel Intercontinental Miami. We are expecting excellent attendance, with over 470 registered attendees to date. This message contains information and brief reminders to help you prepare for the meeting. If you are arriving on Sunday, January 30, please be advised there will be intermittent road closures in/out of the Hotel Intercontinental due to the ING Marathon in Miami. (The finish line is on Biscayne Boulevard in front of Bayfront Park, which is adjacent to the Intercontinental Hotel.) Check-in ------ The NANOG meeting rooms are located on second floor. When you arrive at the meeting, please check in at the NANOG registration desk to pick up your name badge, t-shirt and important handouts. The registration desk will be located on the Second Floor Foyer and open during the following hours: Sunday: Noon to 6 p.m. Monday: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday: 8 a.m. to noon Community Meeting ------ We invite you to attend and participate in the NANOG Community Meeting on Sunday, January 30, from 5:45-7:00 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom, Second Floor. The Community Meeting is an important opportunity to hear updates from, and communicate with, the committees that support and guide the meetings and the NANOG community. Newcomers' Tutorial and Breakfast ------ If this is your first NANOG meeting, you are invited to attend Sunday's 1 p.m. Newcomers (first-time attendee) tutorial in the Sandringham Room for an overview of the meeting. You will also want to attend the Newcomers' Continental Breakfast, 8:30 a.m. Monday in the Bayfront Room on the First Floor (lobby level) where committee members, Merit staff and long-time NANOGers will talk about the organization, the meetings, and how to make best use of both. Please plan to attend to learn more about NANOG and how to get the most out of your first meeting. NANOG wireless network ------ Wireless Internet service is available in all meeting rooms and many public areas within the meeting space. An SSID that provides encrypted wireless access is available. When you check in, the hotel should provide you with an individual authorization code to use for in-room Internet access.
