Check-in ------ All NANOG meeting rooms are located on the 14th Floor of the Loews. When you arrive at the meeting, please check in at the NANOG registration desk to pick up your name badge, t-shirt and important handouts. The registration desk will be located in the Ellington Foyer and open during the following hours: Sunday: Noon to 6 p.m. Monday: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday: 8 a.m. to noon Elections ------ In the annual elections, eligible NANOG voters select new members of the Steering Committee and decide whether to adopt amendments to the NANOG Charter. In this year’s voting, five candidates are vying for three Steering Committee positions, and one charter amendment has been proposed. Eligible voters are those who have attended at least one NANOG meeting in the past two years; as a registered attendee of NANOG50, you are automatically an eligible voter. Complete information about the election is available at: http://www.nanog.org/governance/elections/2010elections Community Meeting ------ We invite you to attend and participate in the NANOG Community Meeting on Sunday, October 3, from 5:45-7:00 p.m. in the Ellington Ballroom. The Community Meeting is an important opportunity to hear updates from, and communicate with, the committees that support and guide the meetings and the NANOG community. The Community Meeting will also feature comments from the five Steering Committee candidates and discussion of the proposed charter amendment. Newcomers' Tutorial and Breakfast ------ If this is your first NANOG meeting, you are invited to attend Sunday's 1 p.m. Newcomers (first-time attendee) tutorial in Salon G/H for an overview of the meeting. You will also want to attend the Newcomers' Continental Breakfast, 8:30 a.m. Monday in the Exhibit Hall, where committee members, Merit staff and long-time NANOGers will talk about the organization, the meetings, and how to make best use of both. Please plan to attend to learn more about NANOG and how to get the most out of your first meeting. However, you will still need to select the service from the menu page, agree to the terms and conditions, and click through until connected. While it will appear that you are being charged for Internet service, the accounting system will automatically remove the charge from your room account."
